A Better Haitian Music Industry

Published: Nov 19, 2011 by admin Filed under: Music
Many of us dream of a better Haitian Music Industry and for some it will be nothing but a dream, because they are living in the past or because they are in deny. However, we can create a better Haitian Music Industry if we really want to! Where do we star? Let’s start with the product that we are putting out there for the consumer. I want the producers and artists to respect and polish their crafts. Nowadays, Haitian Artists have plenty of places to get their inspiration from. Pretty much all around them, all they have to do is to slow down and appreciate life . Some producers are only in it for a quick buck and the lack of professionalism is killing the business. Virtually after every tax season we have producers and promoters out of the woodwork looking to make some cold cash and in the process they are doing more damage then good to the industry. I think it’s time for us to have guidelines for the Haitian Music Industry. Just imagine a country without any rules, total anarchy, chaos and barbarians. A recipes for disaster. We have Djs that are literally pandering to artists in other to play a record. Just the thought of it make me sick to my stomach. We need a company who specialise in getting rid of the payola in the Haitian Music Industry, and let's be honest, we have a lot of this going on.

Haitian music for my soul

Published: May 7, 2011 by admin Filed under: Music

Haitian music keeps me in touch with life, real life and my heritage. It reminds me of the basics and the most important things. While we are all rushing around from day to day it is too easy to get wrapped up in 'getting it all' done and we forget to get in touch with ourselves and with each other often enough.

Haitian Music is on life support, but we can help

Published: Jan 3, 2011 by admin Filed under: Music

Why is Haitian music so bad today? I mean, I'm not that old, but jeez, the Haitian music of today, with only a few rare exceptions, kinda stinks. Some would say that when New Year's Eve 1999 ended, we were ushered into an era of lame Haitian music that we still haven't escaped from today.
