Kompa Pre-Thanksgiving in South Florida

The pre-thanksgiving kompa maniac was in full effect in south Florida. The people were thirsty for some good old kompa music party. I can go on record to officially declare the end of the recession period. Every Haitian bal were pack to the max. Even the zouk clubs saw some actions, it was like people could not wait to go spend their money. The Djakout #1 Vs Nu Look had the most people. Fire marshal was at the door to stop anyone from going inside. Party ended with no major incident. all and all it was a great pre-thanksgiving affair for the Haitian promoters in south florida.

Nu Look Confirmation

Without a doubt, Nu Look is one of the greatest Haitian bands of all time. Nu Look is widely acknowledged as one of the most important and influential Haitian acts of all time according to moi. I am personally an enormous fan, and when I heard the news that Gazman was no longer in Nu Look, I was sick to the stomach for a good period of time.

Haitian music for my soul

Haitian music keeps me in touch with life, real life and my heritage. It reminds me of the basics and the most important things. While we are all rushing around from day to day it is too easy to get wrapped up in 'getting it all' done and we forget to get in touch with ourselves and with each other often enough.

Haitian Music is on life support, but we can help

Why is Haitian music so bad today? I mean, I'm not that old, but jeez, the Haitian music of today, with only a few rare exceptions, kinda stinks. Some would say that when New Year's Eve 1999 ended, we were ushered into an era of lame Haitian music that we still haven't escaped from today.

Bisou In Palm Beach, FL

Last night was the first time that I saw Bisou performing live!  Man, it was a treat. They were really good. A band like Bisou needs a great manager. In the HMI, a great manager is someone that can throw a party here and a party there. If Bisou wants to advance to the next stage, they must reevaluate their strategy. For the life of me, I don’t get why they don’t seek professional help.
