Disip's long awaited album 'Mission'
has finally been released. 'Mission' means an operation designed to carry out the goals of a specific program, and at the same time,
enjoying every moment of the journey.
Disip’s Mission is coming after the
split of Gazman Couleur from the very popular Haitian band NU-LOOK and Gazman's
fans must be anxiously waiting for it. Earlier, there were rumors about the
release of the album, but its release kept on getting delayed because of some
unknown reason. But now, the album is finally out for sale.
Finally a band that makes
fresh and organic music. Kompa nowadays has become somewhat of a fresh thing,
quite an oxymoron.
I can feel his pain, in the
song Bo pe pa Papa, a song about having the feeling of your love not as worthy
as the other person. Kwe mwen has a very memorable chorus, but this song sounds
a bit basic compared to the others, nonetheless still a great song.
In an era where quality slow Kompa
songs are few and far between, Disip should be noted. By now the public are
well aware that they should be keeping their eyes on the Band.
One of the refreshingly nice
things about this CD is the way all of the band members seem to be really
enjoying themselves. Combine that with the overall presentation and you've got
one of Bona Fide's most impressive releases ever.
Listen to Disip’s Mission and
I believe you'll find there's not much to dis-like about it. The songs are
inspired, and the production is simply outstanding. If you're even mildly into Kompa
direct and chord driven music you'll enjoy this album.
My favorite songs in this
record are Bo Pe Pa Papa and PA SANS TOI, Mission, Kolonn Jou Pam.
The album has 13 tracks in total,
which are as follows:
1-MISSION
2-BOPE PA PAPA
3-KOLONN
4-KOUPAB
5-PA SANS TOI
6-BANM GAZZ
7-MY ANGEL
8-HOLD ON TO UR DREAM
9-ADIEU
10-OUVE BARYE
11-KWE MWEN
12-JOU PAM
13-BONDIEM LA GRAN
It's
a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist or a band that I can
truthfully say Disip’s Mission does not have a bad track in the bunch. I'm more
than happy to announce that's exactly what I must say about this one. There
simply is NOT a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all, with each song
standing tall on it's own.
